Symptoms & Conditions We Treat

Here are common symptoms and conditions we diagnose and treat at Abhijit Eye Clinic — if you’re experiencing any of these, book a consultation rather than waiting.

Red Eyes

Red eyes can signal anything from mild allergy or dry eye to infection (conjunctivitis) or more serious inflammation inside the eye. At Abhijit Eye Clinic, we examine the cause precisely rather than guessing — proper diagnosis means faster, correct treatment instead of repeated over-the-counter drops that don’t address the real problem.

Pain in the Eyes

Eye pain is never something to ignore — it can point to infection, injury, high eye pressure (glaucoma), or corneal issues. Our clinic is equipped to assess eye pain the same day, with advanced diagnostics to identify the exact cause and begin treatment immediately.

Decreased or Blurred Vision

Gradual or sudden drop in vision can be caused by refractive error, cataract, retinal disease, or optic nerve issues. Using our Topcon OCT and full diagnostic workup, we pinpoint the cause and recommend the right treatment path — whether that’s glasses, surgery, or medical management.

Headache Linked to Eye Strain

Frequent headaches, especially after reading, screen time, or by evening, are often connected to uncorrected refractive error or eye muscle imbalance. A comprehensive eye exam can identify whether your headaches are eye-related — a step many patients skip before trying medication for the wrong problem.

Squint / Deviation of the Eyes

Squint (strabismus) — where one or both eyes turn inward, outward, up, or down — is treatable at any age, not just in childhood. We assess the type and degree of deviation and offer both non-surgical and surgical correction options.

Drooping of Eyelids (Ptosis)

A drooping upper eyelid can be present from birth or develop with age, and in some cases can affect vision itself, not just appearance. We evaluate whether the droop is cosmetic, functional, or a sign of an underlying condition, and offer corrective surgery when needed.

Double Vision (Diplopia)

Seeing two images of a single object can result from eye muscle imbalance, nerve issues, or other underlying causes — it should always be evaluated promptly. Our team investigates the root cause and manages treatment accordingly, including squint correction where relevant.

Retina Problems & Retinal Detachment (RD)

Retinal detachment is a sight-threatening emergency requiring urgent treatment — flashes of light, sudden floaters, or a curtain-like shadow in your vision are warning signs that need same-day evaluation. With Topcon OCT imaging and a specialist surgical team on-site, we diagnose and manage retinal conditions without needing a referral to Mumbai.

Diabetic Eye Disease

Diabetes can silently damage the retina long before you notice vision changes. We recommend annual diabetic retinal screening for all diabetic patients — early detection through OCT imaging can prevent irreversible vision loss.

LASIK & Glasses Removal

Tired of glasses or contact lenses? LASIK and other refractive procedures can permanently correct common vision problems like myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. We assess your suitability with detailed corneal and refractive testing before recommending the right procedure for you.

Watering Eyes

Persistent watering can be caused by a blocked tear duct, dry eye (yes, dry eyes can water too), or eyelid positioning problems. We identify the specific cause rather than treating watering as a single generic issue.

Floaters & Flashes of Light

Occasional floaters are common, but a sudden increase in floaters or flashes of light can signal a retinal tear or detachment — this needs prompt examination, not a wait-and-watch approach. Same-day retinal evaluation is available at our clinic.

Eye Allergy & Itching

Seasonal or chronic eye allergies cause itching, redness, and discomfort that over-the-counter drops often manage poorly. We identify your specific allergy pattern and provide targeted treatment for lasting relief.

Stye & Eyelid Lumps

Painful red bumps on the eyelid (stye) or slow-growing lumps (chalazion) are common and very treatable — from warm compress guidance to minor in-clinic procedures for lumps that don’t resolve on their own.

Lazy Eye in Children (Amblyopia)

Reduced vision in one eye during childhood, if untreated, can become permanent. Early screening is critical — we recommend a first eye check for children by age 3-4, even without obvious symptoms.

Contact Lens Related Problems

Discomfort, redness, or blurred vision with contact lens use shouldn’t be ignored — improper lens care can lead to serious corneal infections. We assess your lens fit, hygiene practices, and eye health to prevent complications.

Frequently Asked

Emergencies & Specialized Care — Questions Patients Ask

For serious eye emergencies like sudden vision loss or retinal detachment, should I go to a bigger hospital?

Abhijit Eye Clinic is equipped to handle same-day evaluation for eye emergencies including sudden vision changes, flashes, floaters, and suspected retinal detachment — with on-site diagnostic imaging and a specialist surgical team, most patients do not need to be redirected elsewhere for initial assessment and treatment.

What about ocular oncology or retinopathy of prematurity (ROP)?

For these specific, specialized areas, Abhijit Eye Clinic works with visiting consultants who are also attached to leading multispecialty hospitals — so if a case needs a broader multidisciplinary team or a higher level of specialized care, patients are connected directly through that existing consultant relationship, rather than starting over with a fresh referral elsewhere.
